Opalescent Silver with Red leather, Original UK RHD XK120 OTS (1 of just 1, 175 produced), Originally supplied new on the 26th November 1951 to Mr Howard-Smith by Jaguar Agent C H Truman of Nottingham, Issued with the Nottingham registration number OAU 84, Some 3 years later the XK was sold to model Shirley Osborne of Abbey Wood, London, Renowned XK Jaguar enthusiast and expert Joss Davenport purchased OAU 84 in the late 1960’s and owned the car for 45 years covering some 40, 000 miles in his ownership enjoying many Sprints and Speed events, Joss was best known for his great enthusiasm for the 'classic' XKs. He was a founder member of the XK Register of the Jaguar Driver's Club, becoming its first chairman in 1968. Joss was also involved with the organisation of the 1970 British Grand Prix drivers' parade lap where a fleet of XK120's took the drivers around the Brands Hatch circuit with Joss chauffeuring racing driver Denny Hulme in OAU 84, Joss continued to maintain a leading role in the Register through the 1970s, only retiring from the front line in the 1980’s but retaining all his enthusiasm for Jaguars and OAU 84 in particular. He joined the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club not long after its inception and was a loyal member until his passing in 2013. Complete with wonderful provenance file including the original buff log book, Old MOT’s, Period photographs including a photo of Denny Hulme in the passenger seat of OAU 84 at the 1970 JOC Brands Hatch meet and a photo of Raymond Mays driving OAU 84 at the Jaguar Owners Club Shelsey Walsh meet, OAU 84 has also been featured in several Jaguar books and magazines (Jaguar World magazine, Classic & Sports Car Magazine and the Jaguar XK book by Chris Harvey). OAU 84 has been meticulously maintained throughout its life and is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner as much as it has been by its previous custodians. OAU 84 is a highly original UK RHD XK120 OTS and with its fascinating provenance, documented ownership and being a very rare early production XK is a must for a true XK enthusiast.
