Unrestored and really lovely Mk1 Escort, 12 months MOT for the buyers piece of mind, no rot anywhere, MOT tester was amazed by the structural condition, 31000 miles recorded, drives like a three year old car. Steering is pin sharp, gearbox is like a knife through hot butter, servo assisted brakes that stop you! No clunks or bangs from the suspension or running gear, glides over bumps, and the sweetest sounding cross flow I've ever heard. Interior as you can see in the pictures is excellent, one very slight split on the seam approximately 3 inch's long on the passenger seat, but otherwise time warp condition. The car has had paintwork over the years, however, some panels look to be factory paint, and it doesn't appear to have ever had a panel replaced. Only one patch of welding I can see it's had, that is on the offside inner wing, but it has been done very well and neat, the strut top is original with chassis number still present.
Jobs done and items replaced that I know of are,
Four tires, replaced by previous owner
Oil and filter change yesterday by me, second oil change in my ownership of 18 months
New old stock ignition parts including points, condenser, distributer cap, rotor arm, and plugs, new leads to
Radiator flush with fresh coolant, and new thermostat
Front calipers rebuilt with new pistons and seals, new brake pads, disc's are like new
And a brand new webber carburetor bought and fitted a couple of weeks ago, set up on a rolling road to ensure the fuelling is correct, now runs great.
