****** New LOW LOW price. It has to be gone no later than Wednesday 11 May !! Call to arrange viewing/ collection. ABSOLUTE BARGAIN !!******
****** Following a few viewings and feedback, it is clear that the original listed price did not fully take into account the motorcycle's aesthetic condition nor its high mileage and so it is now being offered at a much fairer price for a quick sale.******
A “Marmite” motorcycle but one that is very consummate in its design as a chic town bike – slim, light and nippy. Designed by the renowned French designer Philippe Starck, it was first shown in Bologna in the Autumn of 1994 and entered production in 1995 initially for just 2 years. It was then resurrected in 1999 and finally ceased production in 2002. It is not known precisely how many were built but they are very very rare here, a certain website showing around 30 currently in the UK with only 7 “on the road” !!
This particular example was first registered in June 1996 and has a comprehensive file of previous documents, most MOT certificates since 2004 and a multitude of servicing and parts bills. It’s clearly been well-maintained with the numerous invoices showing that it got whatever was required, when required.
The Starck has had 4 previous owners. The 1st owner sold it after a year, with 2700m showing, to a lady living in Central London. She owned it for 24 years selling it to owner No. 3 who was a dealer through which it passed in October 2021 to owner No. 4 – my brother. He bought it on impulse (because I have one and he loves it) but has never ridden it on the road and now resides mostly abroad.
From the MOTs, the first available is 2004 with the motorcycle already showing 35, 533m. The 2005 MOT shows 43, 001m so that lady was doing around 7500m per year !!. The last MOT, which expires on 29 September 2022 shows a recorded 71, 080m. It currently shows 71197m and has done less than 120miles in the last 3 years.
These motorcycles are equipped with the big Rotax 650 single engine, as found in the BMW Funduro, producing lots of torque. The lady owner sadly had a small spill in 2000 so the bike was categorised, although very minor, but values were low at the time, and parts were expensive. Once repaired, she continued to ride it over the next 20 years putting a good few miles on it. The top of the petrol tank has scratching that may come out with a bit of know-how & elbow-grease but I haven’t tried.
Arguably the best colour combination of Silver & Orange, this a tidy example of a well-used, very rare bike. Please look at all the images as they portray the bike more than any words. Better still, call me and make an appointment to view, that way, there can be no misunderstandings. I can be available during day/ evening by arrangement. I strive for a hassle-free transaction and my 100% feedback is testament to my honesty & integrity.
The bike runs well and pulls very strongly (these engines are bullet-proof if maintained regularly) and has an amazing service history. 6. 5 Moto's are getting rare and prices are rising toward the £4000 mark so be quick and grab a bargain. It’s taking up space in my garage so I’m after a quick sale at £2995 or very near offer.
