For sale is this 1996 Volvo 850 2. 5 SE Estate Automatic. I purchased the car in June 2020 as a lockdown project, the previous owner had begun transforming the car into a BTCC replica so some of the modifications were already completed. I decided to keep a more subtle look and instead went about bringing the overall standard of the car back up. Overall, given the year and mileage, the car is in surprisingly good condition. There is no rust on the bodywork and no major dents or scrapes (although please do not expect showroom condition). The interior is in pretty good condition too and really benefits from the leather that was installed to replace the original cloth. It has passed the last two MOTs without any advisories and drives very nicely.
Standard spec:
• 2. 5 5 cylinder with a 4 speed automatic transmission

• 112k miles with odometer still working as it should
• MOT until 23rd Nov 2022 – no advisories on previous MOT’s
• Last serviced at previous MOT
• No previous history before my ownership unfortunately this wasn’t passed on
• PCV system replaced at 111k miles with genuine Volvo parts
• New battery Feb 2022
• Rear bumper resprayed in silver sand
• Front and rear bumper inserts resprayed in matt black
• 2 keys
Not so good bits:
• Air conditioning doesn’t work
• Driver’s side heated seat doesn’t work
• Service light refuses to turn off permanently (although after 2 mins it goes off)
• Piece of dashboard trim not sitting correctly
• Roof rail trims are both perished
• Side strips ideally need respraying
