Description
Extremely rare KTM Hercules Scooter made in Austria in 1977. These scooters were very popular in Austria and Germany but, as far as I can establish, were never imported into the UK. It has been in my family for many many years and three years ago underwent a total nut and bolt rebuild using, as far as possible, all of the original components. Every panel and the frame were metal filing blasted and powder coated, before being painted, and the engine has been rebuilt using original Sachs components sourced from Sweden.
The frame and engine numbers match the chassis plate and there is every indication that the mileage is genuine given the minimal wear on parts, pedal rubbers, etc. The scooter stood unused in storage prior to it's restoration.
The Sachs 48cc engine runs very nicely and has plenty of power, even carrying two people. Being under 50cc it can be ridden on a car licence with AM classification if you haven't got a full motorcycle licence.
It is UK registered as an historic vehicle and the V5C is in my name.
