In September 2005 the car was bought by Kelsey Publishing who used it as a project car in their "Car Mechanics" magazine. It featured in seven editions (I have the magazines) They carried out a full service along with brake renewal, alloy wheel refurbishment and lots of new replacement parts.
I bought the car from them in June 2006 with just under 95k on the clock.
In the 16 years I have owned the car it has always been garaged and never taken out in the wet!
I used the car for a couple of years then SORN'd it between 2008 and 2016 when it was re-commissioned (new radiator, brake overhaul and service) It's been MOT'd every year since. The most recent MOT was May 2022 with no advisories.
The timing belt was replaced in July 2018.
The bodywork is in good condition for its age. Underneath is solid. Externally there are a few blemishes as you'd expect on a 27 year old car. The rear bumper laquer has faded and there are a few rust blebs on the sunroof.
Inside the car is very clean. The rear seats are as new, the fronts have cracking on the outer bolsters and there is a small tear (10mm) on the drivers side.
The car starts first time and runs sweetly.
There is an aftermarket immobiliser and the radio code is present.
All in all the car is is in a good overall condition.
It has a well documented history supported by receipts and the "Car Mechanics" magazine issues.
These cars are becoming increasingly rare - according to howmanyleft. co. uk there are only 183 left on the road.
It certainly gets a lot of attention from passers by when you're out and about.
