Description

The Austin-Healey Sprite Mark 1 has an unmistakable appearance. It was announced to the public 20 May 1958 and was intended as a low-cost sports car. The car’s upright curving grill and circular head lights gives the impression that the Sprite is ‘smiling’, and from this it gained the affectionate name ‘frog eye’ from British motorists.

This Sprite was first registered 18th July 1960. And has had 11 former keepers in total, the current owner has had it since 2019 and had a raft of work done on it. Although an older restoration, this car is in good shape and drives very well.

With cheerful Iris blue paint reminiscent of a summers sky. This car has a contrasting dark blue hood and interior trim, with light blue piping to match the paint is very period and tasteful.

In terms of documentation, we have MOTs, paper records of work done to this Sprite, tax disks, records of participation in Concours events, records of participation in international Healey weekends and records of club membership. There is also a 1987 Classic Lines newsletter with photos of this Sprite in. Finally, this car comes with a Sprite parts catalogue.

This cheerful little sports car waits for you to test and enjoy, here at Classic Motor Cars.
