(Deposit taken 29/ 6/ 22) For sale is a stunning Caterham R500 Superlight in electric metallic orange. Originally factory built in 2004 and now with 17, 000 miles.
The car was originally built as a Roadsport Academy car shortly before being converted to full R500 Superlight specification in November 2006 by Minister Racing Engines and Caterham.
In the last year it’s had an extensive overhaul, including a full respray, engine service (including the VHPD cylinder-head leak and crack test), skim and polish.
It also includes new mechanical tappets and gaskets custom made by DVA, the latest Payen head-bolts, 6 layer metal head gasket and strengthened oil rail (latest specifications, further improving the K series reliability and strength)
All fluids and service parts replaced at this time including limited slip differential, Comma Motorsport engine oil, brake fluid, steering rack and gearbox oil, spark plugs, brake pads, filters etc. (the cambelt was changed approximately 1000 miles ago)
The work to convert the engine was originally carried out by Minister Power costing £12k for the engine conversion, which will be included in the history and includes the subsequent power graph.
(Maximum power was tested at 230bhp @ 8, 400rpm.)
Maximum torque 155lbft @ 6, 900rpm. Maximum revs 9, 200rpm.
The car was resold by Caterham Cars in 2014 and recognise and sold as an R500, receipt included.
