I am the second owner of 'Fred', this fab Sprite which has had lots of upgrades so he can be more fun to drive and safer in modern traffic. Mechanically car is basically all new, engine, suspension, brakes and transmission. Keep as is or make it into a little hot rod by lowering slightly and putting on wider wheels! Solid overall and underneath, crucially the front clamshell is in great condition with no rust or sign or repairs. There are sections where paint is chipped and peeling and I suspect some filler was used at some point in the rear arches but this is still a lovely looking little car.

? It is powered by an upgraded 1380cc A series inline-four engine, now producing 102bhp , with a five-speed gearbox conversion.
? The odometer shows 93, 076 miles from new and car was owned since 1959 by my friend's mother, she passed away with dementia so sadly most of the paperwork was lost while she was unwell. However I am the third owner (second was her son when he inherited, so technically I am second owner). Fred comes with a pic of the original owner
? The engine has been fully rebuilt and used for under 1000 miles since
? Accuspark electronic ignition conversion.
? A new Weber DCOE 40 carburettor was purchased in 2021 and was expertly set up on the dyno by Woolmer Engineering. The car also features a full Maniflow exhaust including headers, also bought new in 2021.
? The car also features a sought-after Datsun 201 series five-speed alloy gearbox, with a lightened MG Midget flywheel, as well as a front disc brake conversion. Prior to fitting the gearbox was rebuilt and all synchros were replaced. A rivergate kit was used for the conversion which is fully reversible
? The tachometer and the speedometer do not work , Speedometer needs a new cable and a spare electronic tacho is supplied to fix tacho.
