Description
The "Little Mouse" (as Topolino translates in English) was produced between 1936 and 1955 and approximately 520, 000 were made. This 1937 RHD Sunroof Saloon (full length sunroof) was exported to Jersey in 2003 by a prominent car collector, as a starter pre-war car for his sons.
Receipts show engine work and paintwork were undertaken in 1995 with invoices totalling £3, 500. The car underwent considerable further work on import to Jersey, before being sold to another local enthusiast in 2015, who then undertook another tranche of work on the car. Between its two Jersey owners, in excess of £15, 000 has been invested in the car, mostly relating to mechanical and electrical work.
More recently we have rebuilt the front axle which has included kingpins and bushes and steering ball joints. The distributer has had new parts and been set up, along with the carburettor. On purchase by ourselves, the car has had attention to the steering and suspension plus some other minor requirements (circa £3000 invested). In brief, the car has been made to run and drive as it should.
The body is in good solid condition and it is a very presentable car. For the interior, new door cards have recently been fitted, whilst the leather seats remain in a nice original, patinated condition.
The low mileage (42, 000) is believed genuine - an old MOT certificate shows the mileage in 2003 as 37, 843 miles. A comprehensive history file comes with the car and includes workshop manuals and handbooks.
The car is currently Jersey registered and we can assist with shipping and importing processes if required.
