An outstanding example having covered just 8, 510 miles from new whereby its pampered existence began with the expensive Supaguard paintwork preservation treatment when new. The underside and wheel arch apertures are amazing. Now eighteen years old, you could be forgiven for thinking this was a 2004 showroom model!
INTERIOR
This high specification example was ordered with all but one, (the sunroof), of the available factory optional equipment. Trimmed in luxurious factory optional Red/ Black Leather and also benefitting from Supaguard treatment, the interior is justifiably described as pristine and commensurate with the ultra-low mileage. The quirky Freestyle door system allows easy access to the rear seats which offers real adult 2+2 accommodation. Absolutely all equipment, functions and displays operate precisely as they should including the DVD satellite navigation, electric heated seats and ice-cold climate control. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary RENESIS Wankel rotary engine utilises two 654cc rotor units and this example is the more powerful 230bhp version. The rear-wheel-drive configuration offers real sports car handing with a top speed of 146mph and 0-62mph in just 6. 4 seconds with perfect 50/ 50 weight distribution. Benefitting from full Mazda main dealer service history with the last service carried out at 7, 774 miles, the car performs seamlessly in every respect and the engine bay itself is pristine and totally standard. The 6-speed (6MT) transmission is precise and suits the driving dynamics with that unforgettable engine sound.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard 18 x 8JJ five-spoke alloy wheels are perfect and shod in the original factory Bridgestone Potenza 225/ 45 R18 tyres which show masses of tread. The sophisticated Anti-Lock System (ABS) Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) features discs to all four wheels to offer powerful, assured and safe braking power.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on the 1st March 2004 by Warrington Mazda, this exceptional example has essentially had one owner from new and covered just 8, 510 miles with full service history from the Mazda main dealer network. The car was a dream come true for Mr Yates who had always wanted an RX-8 in top of the range 230 form. The car remained in Mr Yates care until October 2022 whereby only upon his sad passing did ownership pass into his wife’s name.
The Mazda service history speaks for itself with all paperwork, service invoices and previous MOT certificates dating back to the first in 2007 is neatly filed chronologically. The original Mazda leather wallet holds all handbooks, dealership literature and service book plus three sets of keys. Completing the history file is the original RX-8 brochure, specification booklet and price list. Meeting every collector desired credentials in terms of ownership, mileage, history, condition and originality, it is difficult to comprehend finding a more superior example. Exceptional in every respect.
