The Rochdale Olympic was introduced in 1960 this model, which having a glass fibre monocoque is extremely light, strong and aerodynamic. The purchaser could choose his own specification of engine and running gear. The Riley 1. 5 being the most popular but other options included MGA, Ford and Morris 1000. In 196 the company launched the Ph. 2 version with the opening rear hatch and disc brakes. 250 Ph. 1 and 150 Ph. 2 had been sold.
This specific example was first registered in 1970 and fitted with a 1. 8L MG engine. Being the Ph. 2 this car boasts disc brakes and the opening rear hatch.
In 2003 the car was subject to thorough work at Scholar Racing, having a full body restoration, all glass fitted and the doors were re-hung.
The Olympic is currently in a restored state with minor finishing touches needed.
