Vehicle history:
In 1937, the new Adler 2. 5 was unveiled at the Berlin Motor Show. The design caused a sensation, as it was meant to reflect streamlined motion inspired by the aerodynamics of a teardrop shape. The robust 2. 5-liter 6-cylinder engine coupled to a 4-speed transmission gave the vehicle good performance. This Adler model was given the nickname "Autobahn-Adler" at the time, which was meant to express its suitability for relaxed driving on the growing German Autobahn network.
This Adler was owned by the same family for many years and was restored in the early 1980s by former Karmann employee Ernst Fleischmann. The current owner acquired the car in 2014 and won 2nd place in its class with it at the Concours d'Elegance at the Techno Classica in Essen, Germany in 2018. Over the years, this Autobahn Adler has been regularly maintained by LMB Rading in Wijnegem and today has extensive documentation on its history. The interior of this Adler is free of cracks and scratches. The transmission shifts smoothly and all the electrics work. The hood has been replaced and the car also benefits from recent work on the brakes and starter. An ideal car for shows, concours or for long distance touring!
