This is a lovely old 1980 Transit motor home / Day van.
She is on a twin wheel chassis which is in perfect condition.
The previous owner replaced the petrol engine with a reconditioned 2. 5Di Diesel unit and a 5 speed box.
She always starts on the second turn of the key and is very economical.
The speedo shows 40, 000. 00 which we were informed is the total mileage on the new engine.
She is rattle free and runs very well to back this mileage up.
We purchased her in 2019 to use for trips to classic car shows and local events.
Covid then put an end to that and changes in circumstances have led to her not being used for over 2 years.
That said we have changed the batteries yesterday and she started on the button and we have moved her around with no issues.
The inside is clean and very vintage with 4 berths with the rear lounge converting into a double bed and a further double bed over the cab.
There is a newer cassette toilet fitted which is great and there is a basin and kitchen sink.
A new water tank and pump were fitted 3 years ago and work well with cold water only.
There is no hot water and the gas hotplate and small wall heater were never used and as such are classed as non working.
We only used her for local events in good weather and did not require hot water or heating.
The outside may look good from a distance but it is hand painted and rather tired.
It was rust free but now is showing minor bubbling on the bottom of the doors and top of the wings.
This is only minor with the Inner and outer wings and foot wells being excellent having been restored well in the past.
The roof is aluminium which is fine, the sides are marine ply hand painted which now needs rubbing down and painting further
due to being in outside storage now for over 6 months.
Best points are the excellent mechanics and engine and box.
Not very fast please be aware but super drive and very economical.
