Description
1982 Harris Rotax 250 cc . One of only two tubular alloy frames which were built by Harris , No further tubular alloy frames were built due to cost implications making this a unique and rare race machine. This example was built for TT winner Alex George but Alex did not ride the bike in the TT , Instead it was ridden by George Russel . The Harris Rotax was also used in the British Championships and competitive running in the 350 cc class . In 1984 the bike was bought by Alex George and stored up to 2015 when sold by him. Its purchaser restoring the bike with the engine going back to Rotax themselves for rebuild . An article upon this machine can be seen on the Goodwood website "Members Meeting Missile" .
Presented today in excellent condition . The Harris Rotax will require light recommission if to be used . Eligible for many classic and International events , Currently forming part of my own race bike collection , A unique and interesting 2 stroke racer .
