FERGUSON TED20 MAGNETO 1953 ALL WORKING WELL, CHARMING TRACTOR

Grey Fergie in good running order, it has a magneto as opposed to a coil and dissy and its in great running order, starts instantly on gear stick and runs really well, working hydraulics and brilliant brakes, good steering, a great usable tractor for the money.
Comes with a starting handle (not pictured, still on floor of our truck) & toolbox fitted. An honest enough vintage tractor with original panels, still has a nice dealers plaque on one rear wing and the serial plate behind the steering wheel.
It will make you smile whenever you jump on and it’s still happy to earn its keep and do a day’s work. All four tyres have good tread, fronts are fairly new, rears showing age, no slows or leaks, PTO with modern size adaptor selects and stops when disengaged, no oil dripping from the seal. Also has an additional hydraulic feed pipe by the right of the seat, untested.
Serial plate fitted shows it’s a 1953 TED20, not currently road registered, no log book, but it comes with a confirmation dating letter from the Friends of Ferguson stating it was built at Banner Lane on Sat 25th April 1953, it will be its 70th Birthday next month, plus there are some certified documents from the original registering council.
Its fine as it stands and for me it looks great, an old tractor which is what it is, but a simple improvement for the new owner would be some paint on the skid pan, back axle and engine.
Rather than mix TVO I’d advise simply putting petrol in both tanks, using one as reserve, the purist will scream at this sacrilege, but I’ve told over 30 of my TED customers this advice, never had any negative feedback or heard of any overheating because it has a the heatshield on, just enjoy the tractor without all the mess, you’ll never do enough work with it to justify the cost saving of mixing heating oil and paraffin.
