Rare classic Ambassador Popular 197cc 2 Stroke. 1951
Has had complete restoration with full engine rebuild by Villiers Service, see pictures of invoices for completed engine and gearbox work.
A sympathetic restoration was completed in 2016 with many new parts but the machine still maintains a nice patina.
The fuel tank is solid and drained of fuel, however the inside is maintained with a coating of 50/ 50 2 stroke and fuel swilled around at regular intervals, the machine starts easily, I use a remote tank to prime the carb prior to starting.
Bike has V5 and is registered as historic vehicle.
Machine is on the Ambassador Machine Register and Michael Easton Co-Authour of “A Guide To Ambassador Motorcycles” has kindly confirmed the machine stating that it is one of only 9 currently know to survive.
