Beskrivning
A stunning example of this classic Italian coupe, presented in superb condition inside and out, following a recent comprehensive restoration, which included a full bare metal respray.
Under the bonnet is Lancia’s characterful 1. 3 litre V4 engine, providing a wonderful exhaust note and driving the front wheels through a 5 speed gearbox.
During the restoration, the car was cosmetically enhanced by the incorporation of the flared wheel arches from the 1600HF. In addition, both front and rear bumpers were removed and polished plugs and inlet trims fitted. The resulting effect, in combination with the 14in Cromodora alloys, provides for a much more sporting appearance to the car over standard.
As a Series 3 car, it comes with the re-designed black leatherette interior, which incorporated headrests into the front seats. The only blemishes, in an otherwise superbly presenting interior, are minor cracking on the outer edge of the driver’s seat and a small tear in the front of the rear bench seat. The dash trim, door cards, handles, switch gear and woodwork, all present beautifully and are unmarked, split and fade free. In addition, carpets front and back, were replaced as part of the restoration.
As a lovely touch, in the glove box there a period sensitive “Grundig” radio fitted. However, please note that the car is not currently fitted with an aerial.
The boot is fitted with new rubber matting and contains an unmarked Cromodora 14in spare wheel, cover and strap, fitted with a brand new matching tyre to the driven wheels. The car comes with the original car jack and tool roll.
The 1298cc V4 engine fitted with twin side draft 35mm Solex carburettors, is a little gem. Whilst not particularly powerful by today’s standards, back in the late 60s and 70s, nearly 90bhp from a 1. 3 litre road going engine, was remarkable. The engine thrives on revs and with a close ratio 5 speed gearbox, tenacious road holding and easy handling, it’s easy to see how it quickly gained success in world rallying, even in 1. 3 HF guise.
The restoration in 2019 also included mechanical recommissioning, evidenced by numerous invoices for various parts and detailed notes from the restorer, along with a comprehensive photo file with over 400 photos of the restoration.
The car, now fitted with electronic ignition to increase reliability and reduce maintenance, was most recently serviced at 73 kms, which included both engine and gearbox oil changes. Additional works since then, include replacement of the carburettor rubber mounts, the gearchange bias spring, both front anti-roll bar bushes, near side front wheel bearing and drive shaft gaiter. The car is registered as an Historic Vehicle and as such, ULEZ, MOT and Road Tax exempt. As part of the pre-sales preparation the car will be given a fresh service.
First registered in 1975, this is a late production car that we understand spent much of its life overseas in sunnier climes, before being imported into the UK in 2018.
The car currently shows 75k kms equating to 47k miles.
As one of the finest examples of these pretty, fantastically engineered Italian coupes available and benefitting from a number of 1600HF inspired features, this car represents a great opportunity to get into classic Lancia ownership, that’s ready to drive and enjoy.
