With us at RFH Classics we have this lovely MK1 1990 (H) Mazda MX-5 1. 6 finished in Crystal White with contrasting Black Trim. This UK supplied MX-5 was sold new through the main agent Lynx Mazda of Somerset and as the pictures show, is in fabulous condition. The last owner of this car brought it in 2014 and whilst in their ownership undertook extensive maintenance work that included a clutch replacement, recent new cambelt kit including the water pump, re-trimmed the car with Black Leather, fitted the Roll Hoop with Wind Deflector and replaced the Alloy Wheels and Tyres that really helps off set the look of the car.
Under the bonnet of this bullet proof Japanese sports car sits a 1597cc petrol engine that is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox, the engine fires straight into life at the turn of the key and to drive is an absolute pleasure and rarely fails to pop a smile on your face. When you consider this car was designed over 33 years ago now it still looks stylish today, which is some achievement. The MX-5 was probably one of the first mass produced sports cars of its era that could almost guarantee to provide stylish looks with outstanding reliability so is perhaps not a surprise that it remains so popular today. Maybe, like me, you look at this original MK1 model and think to yourself it is much nicer than subsequent models that have come along and replaced it.
In the office we have an extensive service folder that accompanies the car containing a substantial amount of receipts for the work undertaken as well as extensive previous MOT tests helping to confirm the mileage to be correct. As part of the history we have the original Mazda Book Pack containing the Owners Instructions and Service Books that highlight the car having minimal use during the 9 years with only a little over 3, 000 miles done in their ownership. We can confirm everything works correctly on the car including the pop up headlamps and the fabric roof, that is in exceptional condition. Accessories include a short tonneau that covers the roof mechanism when folded down.
