This unique 500cc bike (production bikes were 700cc) was commissioned by Classic Mechanics magazine as competition prize in 1987
Odometer shows 5, 876 original miles, with supporting MOT history
Appears to be all original with the exception of a redesigned cylinder head and crankshaft to overcome original limitations (photos provided as well as tooling for head gaskets and pistons)
Also has a dual-choke control and a seven-plate clutch which were not part of the original specification
Two owners from new and current ownership since 1988
Well maintained all its life with regular servicing and MOTs
The history file contains an original copy of the magazine in which it featured
Runs and rides with no known faults, may require some light recommissioning
