Description
1984 RANGE ROVER 3. 5 V8 - EARLY 4 DOOR
Offered for sale is this very desirable early Range Rover Classic 4 door. Displaying only 10000 miles, whilst we can not guarantee this it was in the hands of the last owner for some 17 years so is entirely credible.
Bodywork:
It has been subject to a lot of repairs over the years and has had all the structural items done so its a very solid example, footwells, floors, sills, inner wings are all very good and without issue so I would guess most have been replaced as have the a and b posts (although some of the welds are rougher than we would do so these want grinding down to make a nice job) All 4 door bottoms have been filled and patched so I would personally replace with some good second hand doors which will be easier and cheaper than repairing. The lower tailgate is rotten and the upper is rotten along the bottom edge. The bonnet is in very good condition and not rotten along the front edge like they normally are . The car was painted a number of years ago and will want painting again to make a nice job .
Mechanical:
The vehicle came to us after sitting for a period of time in storage with the last owner so we sent it to a Local Land Rover specialist for a thorough check over to the tune of almost £1000 . This included a new fuel tank, fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs, distributor and rotor arm . It now runs and drives very well indeed , gearbox, clutch etc all good and starts well with only minimal choke. Although the brake and suspension all operate fine I would recommend a checkover of all these before using on the road .
Interior:
Period correct for this model year, drivers seat is worn to the edge and would benefit from recovering. Carpets, door cards and dashboard plastics all very good. Headlining will require recovering.
Summary:
This is an excellent value for money early 4 door with lots of the hard work already completed. It also boasts a large bull bar and CSK alloy wheels which are both very valuable in their own right.
Viewings and inspections are both more than welcome
