The N400 Special Edition was introduced in September 2007 to celebrate Aston Martin's participation in the Nurburging 24hr race and it's achievement of lapping under in under 8 minutes. The N400 badging of this model highlighted the engine upgrade to 400 bhp and a number of notable enhancements over its standard V8 Vantage counterpart.
It included a Sports handling Pack consisting of lightweight diamond cut aluminium wheels, uprated suspension springs and dampers, newer more robust anti-roll bars to enhance the handling and reduce body roll, a new side sill design, Magnum Silver bonnet and side strake meshes, clear rear lamp lenses and a bright finish grille up front. Interior enhancements included a 700W Aston Martin Premium Audio system, Blue tooth prep, Hid Headlamps, Cruise Control, Heated Memory seats, perforated leather seats, Micro-Spin alloy facia trim and a unique numbered sill plaque denoting the model number, along with additional embossing and badging to denote it being an N400.
Only 480 N400 models were ever produced worldwide, 240 coupes and 240 roadsters and for good reason, the combined production numbers (480) signified the number of seconds the lap time of the ring by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage in the 24hr race.
