The first model produced by Tesla and a true milestone in the history of sports cars, the Tesla Roadster, introduced in 2005, may be considered the first electric sports car of the modern age. Its chassis, which came from the Lotus Elise, was formidably effective, and since its maximum torque was available from standstill, without any interruptions from gearchanges, it took off like a dragster: the Sport version reached 100kph from zero in 3. 7 seconds!
This example is a desirable V2. 5 Sport model, delivered new in France on 15 June 2012, as is confirmed by the sales invoice in the car's file. This details the numerous options specified: "Very orange" paintwork, the exterior carbon pack, a leather and carbon-fibre interior, the electronics pack, xenon headlamps and a carbon-fibre coloured hardtop with a protective cover. These additional items of equipment cost over 25, 000 ?. Since then, the car has been regularly maintained by Tesla and the batteries checked each week. With just under 73, 000 km from new, this one-owner car is a genuine collector's item, with amazing performance even today. With some 2500 cars built, the Tesla Roadster is already a true car for the collector.
