The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was built in 1901 by the Enfield Cycle Company of Redditch having previously manufactured bicycles, lawnmowers and stationary engines. Under various ownership, the name has continued through to the present day making it one of the longest-lasting names in the two-wheeled world. The 250cc single-cylinder Crusader was a very popular bike in its day and doubtless sparked the interest of many a future motorcyclist.
This attractive 250cc Crusader Sport, from a deceased estate, is presented in metallic red and chrome and has been part of a small private collection for a number of years. A very usable and easy to maintain classic bike for vintage runs and rallies, the bike has spent some of its life on the Isle of Man with the the vendor purchasing it from another Manx resident, not used for a few years it will need recommissioning before use. On being repatriated back to the mainland it has been put back onto its original UK registration number and comes supplied with a current V5C together with a continuation green log book, some old MOTs and tax disc and a few receipts.
