Classic Car Design offers you this handsome Mercedes E220 cabriolet, freshly repainted in a typical '90s color combo: burgundy metallic and black upholstery with "Pépita" inserts. Of French origin, its low mileage is confirmed by the "Histovec" record. It has recently passed into the hands of an experienced former Mercedes mechanic, who has overhauled it from top to bottom.
Externally, the car has a very nice overall appearance. Mercedes E-series cars often "fade" with age; here, the all-round paintwork is quite brilliant, even if there are a few minor application flaws. The wheels are beautiful and in original condition. The soft top is also in very good condition, with no signs of major wear, and the electro-hydraulic system has also been overhauled and is perfectly functional. The substructures show no signs of corrosion.
Inside, all the upholstery is in good condition. The main defect is on the left-hand bead of the driver's seat, which will be corrected before sale. The Blaupunkt Boston car radio with electric antena works, and even still plays cassette tapes !
Mechanically, the 150hp 4-cylinder engine is sufficient and consistent with the "family" convertible concept. All fluids have been replaced, as have all filters, spark plugs, chain tensioners and silentblocks. It starts at a quarter-turn and runs smoothly, and is perfectly relayed by the manual gearbox, whose control has been revised. No particular comments on braking and suspension, everything's in order and the tires are as good as new.
