Description
This lot will be auctioned via Classic Car Auctions, The Christmas Sale 2023 on Saturday the 9th of December, Warwickshire Event Centre, CV31 1XN. In recent years this car has formed part of an extensive collection of motor vehicles. As such it has received little or no attention and is in a condition that could fairly be described as 'barn find.' It will undoubtedly require an element of recommissioning before it could be expected to return to the road. Inspection of the vehicle and its history file are therefore highly recommended prior to the sale to establish what is or may be required and to inspect any relevant paperwork or history file.
The Crayford Special Equipment Company of Westerham were agents for the Argocat, made by ODG, who also operated in Canada
Made of high-density polyethylene and very strong with tyres running on 3psi, it's an all-terrain vehicle and can cross streams, muddy fields, deep snow, climb the sides of mountains and even swim without an outboard
This particular Argocat is an eight-wheeler and is part of the Stoneacre Collection
In common with the motor cars in this collection, it's in a barn find condition with evidence of work on the engine being started but not completed
Whilst there is no known history with the vehicle, these utility vehicles have always been highly desirable and have an application on hill farms, duck/ rough shoots and even, these days, in riverside towns as rescue vehicles
Mechanically simple and with no emphasis on its looks, it should be relatively simple to get this invaluable ATV back in business
