1972 Jensen Interceptor III
Registration Number: HGK51K
The car is an early Series 3, ‘G’ designation meaning it has the 6. 3ltr engine with the series 3 interior. There was only approx 100 made in this configuration with less that half still in existence.
The current keeper has owned the car for approx 13 years during which the car has been completely restored. Floors, sills, panels and full respray carried out in 2015-16 @ a cost of £25k. All panels were lead loaded. There are photos of this process and it was published on the Jensen owners club website during the work as he wanted it known that the work being carried out was to the highest standard . Paint and body work is very good. Underneath is very good with protection provided by a 2 part flexible epoxy coating.
Other highlights:
- Full engine rebuild including heads with replacement valves for unleaded fuel
- Gear box rebuild.
- Stainless steel tank specially commissioned.
- Uprated water pump.
- Uprated radiator.
- Uprated fans with electronic controller meaning the car heats to ‘Normal’ and stays there.
- Electronic ignition with superior HT leads with a new set of iridium plugs just fitted.
- Electronic fuel pump with roll over safety device.
- Edelbrock performer carburettor with Edelbrock performer inlet manifold.
- Tyres are Michelin’s XWX with about a 1000 miles on them.
- Stainless steel Exhaust in excellent condition
All receipts, 2 folders with approx £65k spent during current ownership
There is also a copy of the original build file from the factory.
Needless to say this Jensen is in simply top condition, fully restored with everything needing doing having been done to it. Current viewings are in Aberdeen, but the caris planned to come down to our showrrom in the next few weeks when we can combine collection with a delivery up North.
This is a stunning example & drives beautifully with all the sensible mods done to make it an excellent modern day driver. They do not come much better then this!!!
