This is a really nice example of the iconic BMW middleweight from the 1970’s.
The bike is an original UK registered machine, and is from my favourite era of BMW motorcycles, when they built machines up to a quality, and not down to a price.
The bike is a late 1974 R60/ 6 in Bol D’or red, and is in really nice patinated condition. Being an early bike, it benefits from many of the top quality details of the time, including alloy indicators, Hella switchgear, drum front brake, original rear shocks with alloy shrouds, and that increasingly rare kickstart gearbox option. Nice period extras also include full factory luggage set, Surefoot side stand, “Easy - pull” clutch kit, tool kit, hand pump, choke conversion, full stainless steel exhaust system, etc. it has also benefited from a high quality replacement seat at some point.
All in all, a very, very smart old Airhead, and unusual to find in such nice, ready to go condition. With only four previous UK owners in 50 years, she’s waiting for her next custodian.
