This Puch 230GE features a 2850 mm wheelbase and, of course, comes with four-wheel drive. Powered by a 2. 3-liter petrol engine with fuel injection (known as the Mercedes-Benz “230” with fuel injection, “E”), this vehicle was originally built by Austrian manufacturer Steyr-Daimler-Puch and delivered in May 1991 for military use. Between 2019 and 2020, the vehicle underwent an extensive restoration by the renowned specialists at Autohaus Lorinser in Waiblingen, Germany. Originally showing very low mileage, typical for military-service vehicles, the 230GE was still in excellent condition when Lorinser began their work. Nonetheless, they carried out a complete overhaul. The vehicle was fully stripped down and repainted, and fitted with a new, versatile fabric roof that can be opened in various configurations. The seats and benches were reupholstered in elegant cognac-colored leather. The tires were replaced with rugged BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/ A tires. The engine received both a thorough mechanical service and a complete cosmetic refresh, ensuring that it now matches the impeccable appearance of the rest of the vehicle.
The result is a heavily upgraded off-road vehicle with a striking appearance and remarkable versatility. Equipped with a locking differential, all-terrain tires, a front-mounted tow hook, and a rear tow bar, this 230GE is fully capable in demanding conditions. Its spacious cargo area can also be configured for passenger use, thanks to foldable, side-mounted rear benches with seat belts for six passengers. A semi-high partition separates the driver’s cabin from the rear compartment, adding to its practicality.
A detailed photo documentation of the restoration is available. Since the overhaul, the vehicle has covered only 2, 000 kilometers. The total mileage of 116, 424 km (current odometer reading: 16, 424 km) is verifiably correct.
This exceptional 230GE is still registered in Germany and is being sold on behalf of a German client. It is in outstanding condition and ready for its next chapter.
