Due to new projects I am putting up for sale our 1940's U23 short chassis van, which I bought as a wreck, completely dismantled and partially incomplete.
This is a genuine 1940 model, first used in February 1940 for the French army. There are a few specific military accessories left (but not all of them): the two tool boxes on the running boards, the pig tails (rear) and the Monocoup central lubrication system. Gone, however, are the separate windscreen, flat front wings and trailer hitch. A true purist could always put back flat wings, but I find the post-war one much more elegant. Original engine, matching numbers according to the Peugeot/ Citroen archives. All the history is known and all the registrations (also the military ones) are known. Already in 1941 it left the army and started its civilian life at Ets. Sirac in Saint Pourçain sur Sioule. Many documents are available and it is supplied with a certificate of date of birth from the Peugeot/ Citroen archives in Terreblanche. The van is a light commercial vehicle and can be driven with a normal driving licence. It has been fully restored and all the work is included in a large A4 restoration album (approx. 50 pages). Possibility to send a short video of this album by WhatsApp if serious. All bulbs (except headlights) are changed to LED and it is equipped with a 6V alternator with electronic regulator. The bed is redone as new and I was inspired by the original. The large CRE Poudre fuel tank is available (1941) but is no longer mounted on the running board. Recently I changed the seals on the lower liners because there was a water leak. The car has Dutch registration and is located in Anna Paulowna, about 60 North of Amsterdam.
