In 1983 Citroën sponsored the French yacht France 3, which took part in the America's Cup in Newport.
To mark the occasion, Citroën produced a special France 3 series in April 1983, of which 2000 were sold. Citroën marketed 2, 000 new units in April 1984. The France 3 2CV was painted in a single colour, Blanc Meije (including the wheels, bumpers and headlight stem), and stickers were affixed to it, with blue waves on the doors, blue stripes on the bonnet, trunk door and soft top with interior closure. It also has specific upholstery in the same spirit, with blue door panels and white seats with blue stripes. The 1983 first-series model has 63, 725 km on the clock and has only had one owner; the mechanical condition of the brakes and shock absorbers is excellent. It is fitted with a new soft top, the original one being supplied. The car just needs a cosmetic, bodywork and paintwork upgrade.
