The Speed Pack removes the electronic limiter that reins in the standard XKR when it reaches 155mph. By recalibrating the engine and transmission, and fitting a revised front splitter and larger rear spoiler, Jaguar had managed to improve high-speed stability and reduce lift, which made the new top speed possible.
The XKR's Active Differential Control system is also set up to assist by reducing steering sensitivity as the speed increases.
XKRs with the Speed Pack got body-coloured side sills and rear diffuser, along with a chrome finish to the window surrounds, mesh grilles, and side vents.
