Description
Sell this magnificent 1966 Pontiac GTO, of French origin and first hand, with only 67, 000 km. The car is in its original condition and never restored.
This car presents very well and shows no corrosion; of course it isn’t new, but for a car that has never been redone it is really very beautiful, exterior and interior alike.
This car has been garaged for several years.
After starting it up, a heating issue occurred due to a possible head gasket, so the cylinder heads were removed and one cylinder was slightly corroded, so no other issues; engine was removed for reboring and, of course, testing and an acid bath to clean everything.
Conclusion: complete engine rebuild. Pistons, crankshaft bearings and oil pump bearings, timing chain and pulley – all new, of course. The same for the cylinder heads: rectification, acid bath with replacement of valve guides and valve seat grinding.
For the car’s safety, the brakes have been rebuilt anew; shock absorbers new; springs new; tyres new; polyurethane bushes new; ball joint and control arm new.
Stainless steel exhaust system new.
All cooling system components reviewed; water radiator and heater rebuilt new.
All hoses and water pump new; carburettor rebuilt new.
It is equipped with a Grand Sport automatic gearbox as an optional extra.
The car has just been appraised by a vehicle expert; value €77, 000; report available.
