Lotus’ Eclat was introduced in in 1975, largely based on the Elite, the Eclat was fastback bodied and offered a larger boot
Early Eclats utilised a 1, 973cc inline four cylinder (Type 907) producing around 160bhp when new and in this case mated to a five-speed manual gearbox
The car on offer here dates from 1979 is presented in Championship Gold over a Beige interior
Acquired by our vendor in 2020, it has been much cherished over the past six years and displayed just 57, 897 miles at the time of cataloguing
We are reliably informed that £11, 495 has been spent with ‘Lotus Bits’ in our vendor's ownership to keep the Eclat up to scratch mechanically - invoices on file
As you may have spotted, this Eclat curiously has Esprit rear lights and its ducktail spoiler fitted and the work has been carried out to a very good standard
Also included in the history file is a Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, original owners handbook with service records up until April 1983, various brochures and manuals and correspondence re a pre-arranged agreement for a story to be carried out on it by the ‘Absolute Lotus’ magazine
