We are delighted to offer this superb Le Mans Blue, Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, thoughtfully modified with Alfaholics parts and freshly run in following the fitment of a 190 bhp Ian Ellis twin spark engine.
The car we are selling on behalf of a fantastic GQ client was originally manufactured in April 1973 in striking Le Mans blue paint and tan interior via the London Alfa Romeo dealership. It has clearly been loved and cherished by its 7 previous owners, coming complete with 2 huge folders of paperwork, including;
- Servicing and parts receipts going back to 1978
- MOT records from 1977
- 20 years of tax disks
- Sales brochures, magazine articles and correspondence with the Alfa Romeo Owners Club
Within these folders are evidence of very regular mechanical maintenance throughout the cars life. Receipts and photos for a full repainted in its original colour in 1989 with further bodywork attention in 2002.
Purchased by the current owner from 4 Star Classics in 2020 when the car was just short of 100, 000 miles, he has since spent £00, 000’s improving the performance, reliability and appearance of the car through fitment of:
- Alfaholics Stainless Steel Exhaust
- Alfaholics GTA Veloce Wheels
- Ian Ellis Twin Spark Engine, Gearbox and Propshaft (190 bhp road-biased, including forged JE pistons and rods, lightened and balanced bottom end, ported head, fast road rifle-drilled Catcams camshafts, new 45m Weber DCOE carbs, and Omex 3D mapped ECU)
- Classic Alfa Big Brake Conversion
The car has now completed 700 miles since the engine and drivetrain work was completed and has been freshly serviced by Biscone Classics, so has considerably stronger performance than when new and is ready to use and enjoy for the coming season.
The current owner of the car searched for many months before finding a car in the right condition and has spent a fortune to create a beautiful 2000 GTV that not only has a stunning history file and presents really nicely but also drives superbly. It isn’t a concourse show pony, but a car that has had some very tasty mechanical upgrades undertaken so it can be used and enjoyed by real enthusiasts for a fraction of the cost of a full Alfaholics build. He is now looking for the car to go to a new owner that will care for it with the passion that he and all of its previous owners have.
