Presented in its Grand Prix White paint with black leatherette interior, this matching-numbers Porsche 911 2. 4T Targa brings together all the qualities enthusiasts look for in a classic 911. Supplied new in California and then kept for nearly 30 years by its one and only Belgian owner, it benefits from an extensive history file, a rebuilt engine and a significant recent mechanical service. A captivating Ölklappe Targa offering authenticity, proven provenance and the pure, feel-good driving pleasure of the early air-cooled 911s.

This Porsche 911 2. 4T Targa is presented in its original Grand Prix White colour combination with a black leatherette interior, and retains its original engine as well as its original gearbox. Delivered new in California, it brings together authenticity, good provenance and all the charm of the early air-cooled Porsche cars.

The car remained in the United States until 1999, as shown by an extensive file of invoices covering its American period. It was then imported to Belgium, where it stayed for nearly 30 years in the hands of a single, same Belgian owner. Part of a significant private collection, it was very lightly used and always stored in a heated, air-conditioned garage with permanent battery charge maintenance. Annual servicing and MOT-style inspections were always carried out with the greatest care; it covered around 500km per year.

Shortly after arriving in Belgium, the engine was fully rebuilt and fitted with several well-regarded upgrades, including hydraulic chain tensioners, reconditioned cylinder heads, new pistons and cylinders, as well as a new exhaust system. Today, the air-cooled flat-six starts instantly, idles perfectly and delivers a smooth, willing surge through the revs. The gearbox is precise and a pleasure to use. Often underestimated, the 2. 4-litre 911T’s mechanical fuel injection really delivers an engaging driving experience thanks to its lively yet well-balanced character.

Very recently, a major overhaul was carried out in our workshop without cutting corners on costs, with the aim of giving its future owner complete peace of mind. Work includes, among other things, four new tyres, replacement of the brake lines, renewal of all fluids, a full geometry alignment, the speedometer recalibrated from miles to kilometres, as well as a thorough mechanical service.

This car is presented as an honest example, carefully maintained, with a light patina that perfectly matches its history. It hasn’t been overly restored and retains all the character and authenticity sought by enthusiasts.

The vehicle is supplied with its jack, spare wheel and a substantial history file containing many invoices documenting its servicing over the decades.

The 911 2. 4T Targa delivers a remarkable balance of timeless elegance, mechanical purity and everyday usability. Thanks to its complete history, its long period of ownership and the significant mechanical investments carried out, this example is a particularly attractive opportunity among the early 911 Targas.
