Here we have what many say is one of the most underrated of British twins, the meteor minor. This example is a Sports model, boasting 33bhp as opposed to the 30bhp of the standard and deluxe models.
These bikes have a particularly stout bottom end which they share with the larger meteor and constellation models, and the modular Enfield design means an easily disassembled motor for ease of maintenance.
This particular bike has been updated with some sensible modifications to ease everyday riding, which last year it was as my chosen method for getting to and from work. These include 12v electrics, quartz halogen headlight bulb, electronic ignition, Podtronics regualtor rectifier, hardened valve seats to allow running of unleaded fuel (i have the receipts for this work from a previous owner) and a new Amal 376 Monobloc.
The overall condition is good and very usable but not concours, the side panels have been repainted at some point and i have the paint that the previous owner used to do so. The chrome on the exhaust has started to go in a couple of places, but nothing major enough to stop me riding and enjoying the bike. Its a very easy starter, runs well and is very reliable. This July just gone, i rode from Kent to Somerset and back to see a friend and it didn't miss a beat.
The bike has tremendous sentimental value to me as it was the last motorcycle my father bought before he died 2 years ago. However i also inherited his knack for accumulating projects and so something has to go if I'm to finish any of my other bikes.
The price i'm asking reflects the rarity (I've genuinely never seen another about on the road or at any shows) and usability of the bike. I am open to negotiation and i also have other Enfield parts which may be of interest.
Included with the bike are the original log book, coil, some spares and a thick folder of receipts and history.
