Description
Here is some info on the Cresta.
Never ever welded, at all!
Basically, it was a one owner car before me, except not technically. I'll explain. A lady in Vancouver bought it new in 1962. She passed in 2014 ish. A local chap bought it and set about removing the motor and stuff, but got bored. Luckily, he did not throw anything away so a local garage owber snagged it and put it all back together.
It shows 63000 miles and given condition of the carpet and pedal rubber I have no reason to doubt it. The car appears to have been gone through as it drives and pulls like a train and stops really well (looks like a new brake master). The only thing wrong with it is;
No handbrake (haven't checked out why yet
Speedo cale broke on day one. Probably due to sitting a while. I have a brand new one, needs to be fitted, FIXED.
Gas gauge worked for a while but doesn't register at the moment. FIXED.
I have pics of the car just before the garage guy got it. The paint was totally flat. When I was negotiating I asked him if he had painted it, as shiny as it was. But no, it had buffed out to a lovely shine, IMHO, the front right fender may have been repainted and there are some local touch up areas but it is all well done. A local hot rodder came by the other day and asked if i had had it valeted. I haven't even washed it in 6 months.
The chrome is excellent all around. The interior is good except for the leather seats. The rear top stitching has come apart (about 18") but I feel that might be fixable. The front seat will need a bit more work although It is quite comfortable to sit on with no bare springs or anything like that.
In the glove box, it still has a cardboard tag that explained toe extras available at the time.
All in all, it is a lovely car that turns heads and also starts instantly since I put on a new battery.
I am happy to take more pics.
Remember Vancouver does not salt roads hence it has never been welded. Which for a Vauxhall is a very rare thing.
Buyer must pay for all shipping costs, but of course I am more than willing to coordinate with your shipper and assist in loading the vehicle.
