THE CAR.
Here we have a real survivor, the 1955 Ford Thunderbird. An American import, in LHD, sourced and purchased by our North American team. This "out of province" car is from Saskatchewan but spent over 35 years in British Columbia with one owner!
All taxes and import duty are paid with NOVA documents to prove. The mileage is recorded at 32965 but we haven't been able to verify its accuracy yet.
Priced to sell as it stands, but we can fully restore it to your colour combination.
ENGINE AND GEARBOX
This sought after Ford was fitted with a 312 cu in (5. 1 litre) engine and factory 3 speed manual gearbox from new. It starts and runs well, and all the gears select. And the sound.....
THE INTERIOR.
The interior is clean and tidy, with the seats and trim in red and white. Thunderbirds of this generation have telescopic steering, power seats and tachometer as standard.
THE EXTERIOR
There are some age related marks on the body, and if we were keeping it, we would probably have it repainted in a couple of years time. The T'Bird comes with a white hardtop. There is no soft top with the car. Apart from this the car looks awesome.
HISTORY
There is some paperwork and history with the car, but it is clear it been looked after. In fact, any vehicle of 50 years old will by definition have been well cared for in its life to have survived. With one owner for 35 years, this car has been properly preserved.
CONCLUSION
This Ford Thunderbird is a real eye catcher, and attracts a lot of attention. There are improvements that can be made, but the price has been set deliberately low to allow for upgrading. One things is sure. You will always draw attention to yourself as you drive it in town or on the open road. The car will require a first MOT to obtain a registration, and thereafter is tax and MOT exempt. We are pleased to help with this.
