Ford Escort Mk1 1300 Deluxe, 1970.
2 owner car and driven just over 70 000km.
First owner owned it up until 2001 and had it stored in his garage most of the time, it was only used on the odd occasions.
Just after the second owner bought the car in 2002 it was taken to a well-known Ford dealer (Auto-Kivitila Finland) to have the front wings and front lower valance replaced. They also painted the complete car on the outside with all windows and rubbers removed, anti-corrosion protection was also applied.
They really did a great job!
In 2011 it was stored in a car storage tent for a while, this tent partly collapsed and caused some minor damage to the front end of the car.
It was repaired and had the front end only re-sprayed, it is a very nice finish but unfortunately they got the shade wrong and it is slightly darker compared to the rest of the car. This never bothered the owner and it was left like it.
This would be an easy fix and would only need the front end blown over again, this time with the correct paint though
Apart from the above mentioned work carried out to the car it is in fantastic original condition and has never been welded (apart from new wings), it is totally rust free and doesn't require any welding.
All the gaps and seams are spot on.
All the chrome and external fixtures like handles, mirrors, lights etc. are just how you would expect from a car like this.. very nice.
Interior is in great condition, one of the best that I have seen.
Roof lining is spotless and so are the seats.
Under the floor mat is still the original insulation.
The underneath of the car is just like the rest of the car, absolutely fantastic and totally original.. never welded.
It has had aluminium rust protectors fitted under the front wings and in the rear wheel/ arch area, this is common in Finland and helps protect from rust.
It has always been maintained very well and anything that ever needed replacing has been, also serviced regularly.
The spare wheel still has the original tyre fitted and also the original Ford lead weight.
