Husqvarna 400 Cross 8 speed supplied to Tracy’s Motorcycles, Burbank, California in September 1971 as one of a pair of bikes to be ridden by Malcolm Smith and Gunnar Nilsson in that years BAJA 1000. I have an invoice for that sale.

Bike was imported to UK in 2009 and underwent a nut and bolt restoration to a very high standard. I bought the bike 6 years ago as the 1971 BAJA winning bike ridden by Malcolm Smith but the promised verification was never forthcoming. I think it is very possible that this is the bike. There are various bits of paperwork to support it but I have never really got heavily involved in research.
