Ford Escort 1300 GT, late 71 build but registered in 73.
3 owner car, previous owner had the car for over 20 years.
Before him it was owned by a lady, who used it only in the summer months.
Full body restoration was carried out around 20 years ago, car was sandblasted, rust repaired and re-painted. Complete chassis was also rust protected, done well and not to thick.
From what I can see the rear arches have been replaces, some welding to the front floor sections and the spare wheel well has been repaired, also looks like the front wings have been replaced. Other than that it is in nice original condition.
Chassis is great as can be seen and I could only find a few minor weld repairs.
The car still looks fantastic considering that all this work was carried out nearly 20 years ago, it hasn’t had any kind of repairs since, only general servicing.
For the last 20 years it has always been stored in a warm garage and only ever used it in the summer months, never in the rain. Last summer only been used once and years prior to that 1000-2000km.
The speedo meter is showing 85000 km and I have been told that this is correct, looking at the car I have no reason to doubt this.
Interior is in my opinion very good for its age, front carpet sections and the drivers seat are slightly worn but other than that it looks great. The centre console section was an extra from Ford and can easily be removed if required.
Mechanically it is very good and original, always been serviced and well maintained.
Prop shaft vibrates slightly at certain speeds, but this has never bothered anyone.
Included are the original 12” wheel with dust caps and original steering wheel.
