Triumph 2000 – Manual/ Overdrive + Upgrades
The Triumph 2000, designed by the Italian stylist Giovanni Michelotti and introduced at the 1963 London Motor Show. The Triumph defined a new sector of the market – a sports saloon for the aspiring family man in an affordable and modern package
Milestones are delighted to offer this very early ‘2000’ in the most popular combination of powder blue body work with blue seats/ white dial interior
This lovely car benefits from a number of desirable upgrades.
· Electronic Ignition
· Electric radiator cooling fan
· Aeroquip stainless steel brake hoses
· Full stainless steel exhaust system
· Uprated rear suspension trailing arms/ polyurethane bushes
· Halogen headlamps
· Rebuilt gearbox/ overdrive unit & clutch assembly
· Hi-Torque starter motor
· Alternator conversion
· Inertia reel seat belts
· New headlining
· Moto-Lita Wood rimmed steering wheel
· Additional oil pressure/ voltmeter discreetly mounted into dashboard
· TR6 powder-coated steel wheels/ recent tyres
In addition, there is a nice history file with the car including a summary of owners, invoices, old MOTs, driver’s handbook etc.
On the road the car drives extremely well with excellent brakes, super smooth straight six engine with twin carburettors, uprated suspension and overdrive gearbox making the Triumph very capable of handling modern day traffic conditions.
At Milestones we love the Triumph straight six engine and the 2000 saloon is an ideal choice for someone looking for a slightly larger family car with sporting pretentions that will provide an entertaining drive be it out to the local pub or a road trip across France.
