We are proud to offer for sale chassis #53 which was first registered on UK soil 04/ 09/ 1997. It’s glass fibre body is finished in Hunter Green with the glassfibre body, aluminium engine cover and steel monocoque tub ensuring the kerb weight sits around 1250kg’s.
The interior is filled with most ‘bells and whistles’ one is used to in a modern car such as air conditioning, remote central locking with an alarm, electrically adjustable door mirrors, power steering and CD player.
All the toys aside, the fit and finish is just superb. Sand leather upholstery, tan carpets and roof lining are accentuated by the dark bur walnut trim on a charcoal dash board.
In August 1997, CAR Magazine took a 911 Carrera S over to the Venturi factory in Nantes, France to bring home the first U. K. car. Their original idea of comparing a Lotus Esprit GT3 was frostily vetoed by Venturi as their sights were set much higher, gloves on and in the ring for the 911 then. A fantastic article and one of many rave reviews written about the car.
According to a rolling road report chassis #53 has lost around 5bhp in its 21 years at 276bhp but strangely makes 33 lb/ ft more than was advertised at the time, print-outs aside this is a seriously well performing car on the road, very well mannered and a fine handling car.
It’s last owner of 10 years has certainly enjoyed its beautifully appointed interior and cavernous front and rear storage and we can’t disagree with him that would be so enjoyable on a long weekend away or European trip.
