I’m, not sure where to start with this,
I’ve owned it since 1996,
it’s fully rebuilt on the original chassis which has been galvanised.
Power steering fitted from a recon unit from a Leyland Sherpa with full lock, some don’t achieve full lock, this does, chassis is not chopped about to fit it, full photos of rebuild available.
Two, Brand new genuine 101 axels fitted, the rear has a Detroit locker fitted, new Salisbury diff available.
New polybushes fitted to all spring and steering components.
Chassis painted black over galvanising,
Springs powder coated black with drag link, track rod and other underbody components,
Winch is standard 101 with oiled up wire cable,
LT 95 standard original gearbox,
Genuine LT95 overdrive with correct cable and lever fitted,
New clutch plate and cover,
New brake shoes all round,
New brake cylinders all round,
Professionally re sleeved brake master cylinder,
Powder coated brake back plates and drums,
Repainted original brake lines in perfect condition,
3. 9 litre V8 EFI engine fitted which fits perfectly, this engine has only covered 25, 000 miles when fitted, documents available,
Gear linkage is carefully moulded around plenum chamber so does not vibrate or show above the body,
Fully rewired to cater for replacement engine using at least four new fuse boxes,
Recent new battery,
Brake and clutch fluids are dot 5 so don’t absorb water,
All body panels are powder coated from bare aluminium,
Some body panels replaced with new modern grade aluminium made exactly to original pattern.
New front panel made from new grade aluminium, modern secret rivets and glue instead of spot welds, results in a stronger, waterproof and tidier job, the original panel did have design flaws which have been corrected, these can be explained.
5 powder coated wheels with radial tyres, 4 are little used, the spare is legal,
Tilt is excellent,
Custom bench seats fitted, seats 12 easily, I’ve had 17 people in here including the driver!
Original 101 bench seats are available, one is new old stock, the other is excellent condition.
Front Seats are standard,
All metalwork if not painted has been galvanised including seat bases, side rails, hinges etc, please see pictures,
All stainless nuts, bolts and washers of the correct diameter and length have been used around the body with copper slip used everywhere to prevent corrosion between metals,
Waxoyl used extensively between panels and joints to prevent corrosion.
Rivets of the correct length and type, yes I know it’s sad but every detail has been looked at, have been refitted around the body,
Almost Correct steel rivets have been used in the correct places, to be exact Huck instead of Avdelock bolts have been fitted but I can’t see the difference.
Original engine and axels are available if the new buyer wants exact originality but this 3. 9 engine is smoother, more reliable, more powerful and more economical.
Non original large bore stainless exhaust fitted and sounds superb.
Tax and Mot exempt
Fitted with all new lenses and lots of Led bulbs,
Fitted with electric fan.
I know there’s more as it’s three years since I finished rebuilding it, please study photos and ask me if you’re unclear, it’s currently used as a wedding transport vehicle.

Fitted with LED correct MOD reversing lamp,
Stainless steel mud flap brackets all round,
New fuel tank pipes and hoses, tank is original.
All stainless jubilee type clips around the vehicle,
Original Fuel tank lined to protect against ethanol,
Fitted rev counter on dash,
Fitted correct Smiths oil pressure gauge on dash.
Good oil pressure even when hot.
New Bowden cables, all three of them,
Every thread, bolt, steering joint has copper slip on it,
Tie rod and drag link have wax oil inside to prevent corrosion,
Small oil pump on gearbox to circulate oil before start up, this pump need’s replacing.
All new fasteners around body panels,
Thousands have been spent on building this Land Rover I intended to keep it forever but had a change of heart, there are genuine reasons.
Transfers advertising our wedding venue on the doors are easily removed,
Doors and door tops are rebuilt with galvanised frames before new skins were fitted, again skins are glued on to prevent galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals before two pack paint applied to them, everything else blue has been powder coated.
New windscreen glass on both sides.
Fitted with a new specially made front propshaft with double cardon joints at each end, this eliminates the propshaft rumble which these vehicles are famous for and which is quite annoying.
Fitted with an oil stat to aid faster warming up. Previously used by the military and seemed to have an easy life as it was in very good condition when I bought it.
Sold to Crook Brothers in Preston when leaving the army, I was then the first owner from Crook Brothers after they tidied it up.
I used it for transporting people, fitted with bench seats to seat over 12. Original seats are available and very rare. It can go almost anywhere with greater approach, ramp over and exit angles than any other Land Rover including 90s. It has a large load space when seats removed, greater than a hi cap, lovely V8 sound track, very high seating position, easy to manoeuvre and has power steering. The canvas roof can be rolled up on the rear and sides or removed altogether. What’s not to love about this Land Rover?
