Currently have for sale a 1964. 5 D Code mustang in poppy red. I’ll try to go into as much detail as possible and hopefully not miss anything out!
I’ve gradually been rebuilding the car from the ground up, I’ve rewired the car front to back, currently left the under dash untapped as I had the intentions of putting the courtesy lights in but i have not had the chance to. All other cables are done, taped and fully working. All current lights are led, interior, front and rear including the indicators but no interior light fitted.
The air intake manifold, carb, alternator and power steering are all new and replaced the 2 barrel carb to a 4 barrel edelbrock 650cfm carb and Intake manifold to suit. Fitted a dual exhaust system front to back from a single exhaust, cleaned the fuel lines and brake lines as well. The car is currently on drum brakes, magnum wheels and all in working order. The park brake however has not been fitted/ replaced so it’s original.
The interior is all new, new dash and seat covers with a new carpet. The front buckets are in the box still, the door cards are showing some crinkling so perhaps the heat has affected them. All the dials are new, new steering wheel and facias, the glove box facia is original still with some wear. Radio is new, digital antenna as well to save the fender antenna. It comes with a phone cable to play your own music through it but also looking original to the car.
Exterior chrome, front and rear bumpers are replaced, Light bezels are new as well. The front bumper stops, long side strips, mirrors and wipers are original but cheap to replace. Halo running lights, multi colour changing ones, blue interior running lights as well with dimmer switches.
I’ve currently got £6k in parts fitted so far into the car, I do not think it needs much more to finish it.
What would still need replacing;
Fuel tank (small hole one top)
Exterior chrome to smarten the car up
Park brake cable
New heater box/ defroster (housing falling apart)
Small touch ups on paint.
I’ll try to show as much as I can with the photos and a walk around video. If I’ve missed anything I’ll edit and update as I go.
Any questions please callI’m really into rare cars, having a half year only model and a D code to make it rarer appealed to me upon purchasing it. Plan was to keep it as my kids love working on the car with me, going out for drives etc but I’ve got some business ventures I want to pursue. Once I’ve delved into it and build businesses from the ground up where they are self sufficient I will be looking to purchase another classic to continue the dream of working on cars with my kids.
