Purchased in Los Angeles by my father on 7 December 1992, the car was exported by container to the port of Antwerp where it was restored in a body shop for painting and then in a Nissan dealership for a total engine rebuild (all engine parts are NISSAN oem parts). (Later, the 4-speed gearbox was replaced by a 5-speed Datsun 280z gearbox, which was combined with a 3. 7 axle.
In 2021, I decided that I wanted to restore the car to its original colour (my father had chosen a darker yellow), so the car was completely dismantled, sandblasted and repainted in sunshine yellow (919). After complete sandblasting, very little rust was found (on the doglegs) and the affected metal sheets were cut out and replaced with new ones.
The running gear was dismantled, sandblasted and repainted, all the rubber bushes changed, and the interior completely overhauled (seats, dashboard, etc.) Electrics and brakes too (new master cylinder, new callipers, pads, rear linings....). The carburettors were also overhauled (cleaned, adjusted and tuned) by the best Weber carburettor specialist in Brussels.
The car has travelled around 3, 000 km since its total restoration, and in July 2023 it passed the Belgian roadworthiness test without a hitch and was issued with a card valid for 5 years. A car with a well-known history, owned by the same family for 30 years. Matching numbers, zero rust.
More than 20, 000 euros in recent invoices.
Fully functional and reliable: 2500 km roadtrip in 5 days last summer. In order for roadworthiness tests and without any remarks. Recently restored and put back in its original colour, Sunshine yellow 919 only produced in 1970 and early 1971.
Extremely rare Campagnolos Ragno wheels (magnesium) and new tyres (Yokohama ADVAN HF type D).
