Description
A Standard Steel S1 with power steering and (for unknown reasons) S3/ T1 overriders on the back bumper.
Original headliner and woodwork but 'vegan leather' front seat. I have replaced the carpets, overhauled the brakes (incluuding master cylinders and servo motor) new wiper motor and other things as and when needed.
It comes with the original sales brochure, but not the original radio or headlights (but you can now drive at night at more than 30mph). I was told the paint is a RR silver from the 1990's
'Silver Ben' has full Australian (NSW) registration to February 2025 and a current 'pink slip' (MOT). Owned for 14 years but with less than 1, 000 miles added in the last 4 years. So what is the point of a mistress you prioritise so little time with?
Originally purchased for my daughter's wedding (no I didn't buy the church and hotel as well) it has been used in family and friends' weddings and wedding aniversaries, but now it is stored and takes 10 minutes to get out, so Silver Ben gets used less for the Sunday afternoon drive or early morning sun rises in style.
Whilst fast in its day, this is not your ideal get away car, mainly because it is noticed wherever you go. Unable to be described as 'nippy' like, say a Golf GTi, S1's rides regally. The sound of the doors closing is exactly like they sound in 1960's TV shows where a person of wealth, taste and style was depicted by the S1 they drove, rather than was driven in.
Now you can have the same good taste and style but without the need for wealth!
