Description
1998 Volvo 940 B230FK – The Last UK Car Ever Built | £7, 500
This isn’t just a Volvo—it’s a rare piece of automotive history. This is the final Volvo 940 built for the UK market, and the 7th last 940 ever made globally. Supplied new by Kastner Volvo of Plymouth in March 1998, it’s spent its entire life in Devon, meticulously maintained and loved by true enthusiasts.
Powered by the iconic B230FK redblock turbo engine, paired with the robust and desirable M90 5-speed manual gearbox, this car represents the very best of classic Volvo engineering. It’s a multiple award-winner, show-stopper, and daily-capable modern classic all in one.
My Story with the Car:
I’ve owned this car since November, and in that time I’ve done 10, 000 miles—covering the length and width of the UK without a single issue. It hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s proven itself a reliable, loyal companion, and it’s never failed to make every journey enjoyable. I’m only selling due to returning to university and needing to free up funds—otherwise, it wouldn’t be going anywhere.

This car is more than a vehicle—it’s a time capsule, a survivor, and a truly one-of-a-kind collector’s car. Whether you’re into classics, Volvos, or just want something with real soul, this is your chance to own the nicest 940 in the country.
£7, 500 – Located in Devon. Serious enquiries only, please. I bought this Volvo 940 because it’s not just another classic—it’s a landmark in Volvo’s history. When I found out it was the last one ever built for the UK, I knew it was something truly rare. Add to that the fact it’s the 7th last 940 in the world, and suddenly you’re not just driving a car—you’re preserving a legacy.
What makes this car stand out isn’t just the rarity or condition (though it’s one of the best in the country), it’s the sense of occasion every time you drive it. The way the B230FK turbo engine pulls so smoothly, paired with the strong M90 gearbox—it’s a reminder of when cars were built to last and meant to be driven.
My favourite thing about the car? It’s hard to choose, but I’d say the factory coach line and the overall originality. It gives the car a bespoke, dignified look, almost like Volvo knew this one was going to be special. Combine that with the awards it’s won, the restoration work, and the way it turns heads everywhere it goes—and you’ve got something truly unique.
This car deserves someone who gets what it is. It’s more than transport—it’s a statement.
