Description
I've owned this landy since 2007 . The previous owner had purchased it from the military and restored it in a sand colour and canvas roof.
He told me the rear end had been blown up by a mine and that he had replaced the rear quarter chassis and replaced the doors due to bullet holes.
It's been with me a long time throughout my younger years, so i apologise for the purple hammerite throughout the inside, the purple seats and of course the roof lining (i can happy remove/ keep this if you don't want it). I got fed up with canvas roofs shrinking, so i fitted a hard top. Unfortunately it does leak when it rains. I can't work out where it comes from.
Recent head gasket change. Recent new clutch. New shocks all round and both fuel tanks were replaced about 4yrs ago + new webber carb.
It has classic range rover diffs and a fairy overdrive. It has freewheeling hubs but they are odd. Parabolic springs and most of bushes been changed for pollybushes.
Drivers side foot pan/ splash gaurd has had rot and my dad did a poor welding job.
My dad borrowed it for a couple of years and i didn't miss having it, so I decided it needs to go to a new owner that may love it as it is, or perhaps strip it down to restore back to military style as it has some good military bits on it, like the split tailgate, military headlight switch and headlight surrounds.
It starts, stops and drives. I used it daily for a bit, but I'm happy to be back in my Marina now.
It seems to have started leaking oil from the front of engine? I haven't had time to investigate. I mean it is a land rover. So it does leak oil anyway.
Got a massive pile of receipts from over the years.
Any questions please ask. It has military history. Served in Ireland. Has always been reliable.
